Baby thoughts/update

At our first ultrasound the nice nurse lady warmed up the goo before she put it on my tiny tummy and let me see and hear my little baby for the very first time. I am convinced she is an angel.
At our following appointment the nurse put cold goop on me with no warning before she used the doppler moniter to let me hear my little one's heartbeat. Rude. But forgiven because my mom came with me and she heard that little heart racing and she covered her face and squealed, "I can hear it's heart beeping!" Totally made it worth it. She is going to spoil this child like crazy. 
Today we went in again and my sweet hubby was able to come. After I got over the shock of the once again cold goop, I got to hear that magical sound that makes my own heart flutter. Today we are at 156 beats per minute. Deadly to a normal person. Perfect for a growing infant. The doctor poked around my belly and determined that there's a head by my right hip, and a bum by my left. I hope the tiny little one is comfortable.
We get to find out if we're baking a little boy or a little girl on June 18th at 1:30pm. That same day we will also be officially half way done! I'm happy to see the nice ultrasound angel again. I think we'll make a day of it and get lunch with our parents before or after. After that, I suppose I'll make some kind of public announcement so that you can all share in our joy.
I know you're just as excited as we are.

Titan

I drove this bad boy to run errands today.
At first I was terrified.
Now I think I need one.
It's a Nissan Titan V8...
And I almost need a ladder to get into it.

So here it is, the newest potential member of the family.
A Home.
It is said that homes can take on a personality of their own, or that it can build a family a certain way. Likewise, a family can build a home a certain way and can take on a personality of its own. So how do you take two entities such as these and merge the ideas to build a personalized home based on the unique set of family principles and values.
The answer is Love.
 Love for the family, love for the home, love for the person(s) building those elements, love for the idea's and ideals that will make the merge a beautiful and lasting memory, and of course, love for love itself.
 I am excited to see this through. I say "potential" member of the family because we are not currently under contract for the home, but our offer has been accepted by the bank. Now comes the process of signing documents and paper work, negotiations, counter offers, and once that is all done, the TLC that will be required to turn the house into a home.
It has been some time since the last update on my blog but I am gonna try and keep it steady again. I know that has been said again before, and it will probably be said again if needs be. But this is to the future of endeavors, for what is the future at all, without the investment into the endeavor.

The Amazing Home Race... Results

Our time was 2 hours, 8 minutes, 16 seconds.
There were 9 challenges.
We started in Orem, went as far north as Highland and south to Salem, then back to Orem.
We came in 4th of 33.
Some couples didn't even return.
We owned the dunk tank, found the hidden key, counted the colors, took the pictures, caught the ball in the cup, planted the flowers, and ran our little booties off.
It was a great way to spend our Saturday morning, even if we didn't win.

We want to say a big ol' THANK YOU to everyone who cheered us on and supported us! We're truly blessed to have such great friends and family!
