This is a space for dream words, love words, flying words, fall down, and get up words. First it begins inside your heart. Something moves, opens, frees itself. Spoiler Alert : Hunger Games

Today I have seen countless debates and discussions on this subject...

After much reading and research I have come to this conclusion. Those who believe that it glamorizes violence and promotes our society to encourage children to kill children... are ignorant to the rest of the story.

The first book/movie are only one small third of the entire story.
Here is where the spoiler comes in. If you are really interested in this series, you may not want to read on.

Book 1 summary:
The scene is a post apocalyptic America. Split into 13 districts and the Capitol City. Each district is responsible for providing things necessary for life; fishing, hunting, coal mining, etc. There was an uprising of the Districts against the capitol that brought on nuclear war that completely destroyed District 13 and brought the uprising to an end. As a reminder of the Capitol's victory and power, they force each of the districts to send 2 tributes each year to "the hunger games." An event in which these children are placed in an arena and forced to fight to survive. There may only be one winner. If the children do not kill each other on their own, the capitol invents "natural disasters" and kills them off as interestingly as they can. This keeps the districts terrified of the capitol and they continue to supply them with the things they need. Katniss Everdeen volunteers in place of her sister as a tribute in the games, and after many trials and struggles, wins... along with the other tribute from her District, Peeta Mellark. Katniss and Peeta played against the capitol and would not kill each other when it came down to it, and they were allowed to win together. And that is the end of book 1.

Books 2 and 3:

SERIOUSLY. DO NOT READ ON IF YOU PLAN ON READING THE BOOKS, OR WILL BE UPSET IF THE END IS SPOILED.

Katniss and Peeta have been awarded their riches from the capitol, though the capitol is infuriated that they were played by these children. The president of the capitol is blackmailing Katniss and will not let her live her normal life ever again. She is forced to constantly put on a show or the President will kill her family and her dearest friend Gale. Then comes the Quarter Quell. The 75th annual hunger games. And through a huge turn of events, Katniss ends up in the arena once again. And, despite the presidents efforts to kill her, she survives. Katniss becomes a symbol for the districts even through the presidents blackmail and another uprising begins. She vows to fight for her life, her family, and her liberty. And the capitol is brought down.

These books are about a civilization that is forced into violence through blackmail, fear, and poverty and they overcome it.
Captain Moroni wrote on the title of Liberty, "In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children" As he rallied the troops to fight against Amalickiah.
This was the same concept for Katniss and the Districts of Panem. After being forced by the capitol to fight for entertainment, they took a stand, one last fight for their peace, their freedom, and their children.

This is the end of my rant. Please share your opinion. Whether you agree or not. Discussion is always welcome. I do not claim to be 100% right 100% of the time. But please please please, no angry or hateful comments. They'll just be deleted. Thank you!
