Blog Description

This is a space for dream words, love words, flying words, fall down, and get up words. First it begins inside your heart. Something moves, opens, frees itself. And now you feel a rhythm breaking it's long silence. This is going to be good. Be creative. Be generous. Be bold. For it is here that we begin to tell our story.

Baby Shower Project

My dearest friend is blessed to be pregnant with a baby girl! I am so excited for her and I am looking forward to meeting little Arlee when she comes in just a few weeks!

We are throwing her a baby shower, and here are a few of the fun things we will be doing/making...

I found this adorable cake on Pinterest the other day and could not resist. My mother amazing mother is helping get it all baked, shaped, and decorated. I'm hoping it turns out well. If it does, I'll post a tutorial for those of you who think it is as cute as I do. Come on.... Look at that little foot!

These sweet little things are just perfect for how adorable this mommy to be is. And they remind me of summertime... which I miss terribly.

These will be at a table for friends and family to fill in the blanks. They say...
Dear Baby,
I hope you learn_____
I hope you aren't afraid_____
I hope you love_____
I hope you get_____
I hope you laugh____
I hope you never forget____
I hope you ignore____
I hope you become____
I hope you respect_____
I hope you grow____
Love_____
What a sweet thing to have in a scrapbook for this little girl as she grows up. She will always have a reminder of the many people who have loved her from before she was even born.

What would you have to say to a new life entering this world?

I'm so excited to see how all these fun things pull together!

May you all take a moment to reflect on the joys of your lives. Whether it be friends/family/love/or a new little one. Remember, you are not lucky. You are blessed.

  1. Where are the "wishes for baby" tablets from? And is there a special pink lemonade recipe?
    Thanks!

  2. The "wishes for baby" cards were found on pinterest, but we made our own with scrapbook paper and cardstock. We just printed out the questions from a word doc then used tombo adhesive to attach them to our cute paper.
The pink lemonade is just regular mix. You could even add some sprite for a little extra zing. We added fresh cut lemons and marachino cherries and it turned out really well.

  3. What an adorable shower you threw!!! She's a lucky girl!

I was searching the internet looking for a free printable version of the "wishes for baby" and came across the exact template here: http://www.simplyfamilymagazine.com/online/2011/10/wishes-for-baby-free-baby-shower-printable/#.

I'm using this for a shower for my sis-in-law next weekend and thought maybe it could help lora out as well.

Thanks for the great ideas - amazing!
